Driveways in Weymouth
Block paving and resin drives that cope with wet ground and salt air.
More on driveways
We lay driveways and patios and rebuild gardens in Weymouth, Portland and the villages around them. Coastal weather and heavy ground are part of the job here, so we build for both.
These are our own jobs, photographed where we did them. They are not all in Weymouth. See more on our work.

Driveways in resin bound, block paving, tarmac and gravel, plus artificial grass, walls and steps and garden rooms.

Patios with proper falls and drainage, so rain off the sea runs away from the house.
More on patios
Sheltered garden layouts, fencing built for the wind, lawns and beds.
More on gardens
A practical answer to lawns that turn to mud on Weymouth clay. We dig deeper and add drainage under the base so it doesn't pond.
More on artificial grass
Walls and steps built to stand up to wet clay and coastal wind, with footings dug down to firm ground.
More on walls and steps
Garden rooms on a raised block plinth so damp clay never reaches the timber, with fixings rated for the sea wind.
More on garden roomsA lot of the ground around Weymouth is clay. It holds water after rain and moves as it dries out, so a thin sub-base will crack and sink. We dig deeper here, lay a membrane and make sure surface water has somewhere to go, either a permeable surface or a drain.
The wind matters too. Fence posts are set deeper and in concrete, and we pick fence styles that let some wind through rather than acting like a sail.
Weymouth and Portland are covered by Dorset Council. Parts of the town centre and seafront are conservation areas, and the Jurassic Coast setting brings extra care near the shore, so we check before quoting front-of-house work.
The national rules are in our driveway planning permission guide, and typical prices are in the driveway cost guide.
Weymouth has terraces and guest houses near the seafront, larger family homes in Preston and Upwey, and newer estates at Littlemoor and Chickerell. On Portland, stone houses and exposed plots call for tough materials and solid fixings.
