Driveways in Winchester
Resin in warm stone blends, gravel with a block apron, and traditional block paving.
More on driveways
We lay patios and driveways and rebuild gardens in Winchester and the villages around it. Many homes here are period properties, so we choose materials that sit right with brick, flint and stone.
Driveways in resin bound, block paving, tarmac and gravel, plus artificial grass, walls and steps and garden rooms.

Natural sandstone patios that weather in well beside older brick and flint.

Garden rebuilds that respect mature trees, walls and the slope of the plot.

Used sparingly here: under trees where grass won't grow, or for a play area, keeping real lawn elsewhere.

New brick and flint work matched to the old walls that run through so many Winchester gardens, plus terraces on the hillside plots.

Studios and offices tucked into long Fulflood and St Cross gardens, sized and placed with the conservation area in mind.

Winchester sits in a chalk valley. Chalk makes a firm, free-draining base once you reach it, but the flint bands in it slow the digging and fill a lot of skips, so muck away is a real line on our Winchester quotes.
Gardens on the hillsides above the city often need levelling, and old flint and brick boundary walls are common. We build around them rather than knocking them down.
Fulflood, Hyde and St Cross have Victorian and older houses with small front gardens and long thin back gardens. Further out, Badger Farm, Harestock and the Worthys have newer family homes with room for wider drives.

Winchester City Council handles planning. A large part of the city centre is a conservation area, and the South Downs National Park starts just to the east, where the park authority makes the decisions. We check which applies to your house first.
The national rules are in our driveway planning permission guide, and typical prices are in the driveway cost guide.
